Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's an exciting time and many new and repeating parents will want to capture the precious moments when your bundle of joy arrives. Here are some tips on how to get that going.

So, what do you need to know about scheduling a session for your newborn baby?

Before booking your newborn session, be sure to do some research! Is the photographer's style something you'd enjoy seeing in your home? Do you prefer styled fine art portraits, or lifestyle? Once you're decided you like their work - it's time to book get in touch! While it is best to photograph newborns between 5-14 days old, you'll want to book your session during the second trimester. A newborn session can take anywhere from 1-4 hours, so you'll want to make sure your booking based on your due date is on the photographer's calendar.

If your baby has already arrived, reach out anyway. Sometimes photographers can still squeeze you in.
At Precious Ones Photography, we book a limited number of newborn sessions each month, by appointment only. This ensures there will be availability when your baby is ready to join your family. I also leave some last minute openings in case baby decides arrive to earlier or later than their due date. You never know! :)

When you've booked your newborn session (hopefully with us!), how do you prepare?

For our clients, once your session is confirmed, I send over a Pre-session prep guide. A Pre-Session consultation is done in-person or an via phone call to customize your session so we can capture images you will fall in love with.
